HowlOver Canada, FlyOver Canada’s Halloween show, is definitely worth checking out. Here’s what you need to know before you make the trip.

Even though we had heard about it before, no one in our family had been to FlyOver Canada! We were excited to see what it was all about, although a bit nervous about driving to Vancouver from our neighbourhood in South Surrey– we hadn’t been downtown since last winter.

What’s The Big Deal About HowlOver Canada, Anyways?

I’m not going to lie– we had a total blast together. After we signed in, the journey to the theatre was entertaining with spooky decorations, effects and music. We were delighted to discover the ride was sort of a mix between Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion and Soarin’. To sum it up, it’s an experiential flight across Canada that delights every sense, with its visuals, motion, wind, mist and scents. We laughed, hooted, hollered, held on for dear life, and even raised our arms dancing at the end. Afterward, we celebrated our journey with Halloween-themed treats, including Ghostie’s Marshmallow Pop, Biker Mama’s Witches Brew and Ghostie’s Hot Chocolate.

We would love to come back to experience their Christmas show.

We were very impressed by the HowlOver staff’s attention to detail with social distancing, mandatory mask wearing and disinfecting our seats.

How Scary Is It Really?

The HowlOver Canada website says this annual, family-friendly tradition has a ‘spook-factor’ suitable for those aged 4 years and up. But you know your kids best. For me, the dark spooky room at the beginning and the flying action of the ride were the scariest parts!

How Tall Do Kids Need To Be?

Children must be at least 102cm (40″) to participate on the ride.
