There’s nothing that says summer like the taste of fresh, BC blueberries from Klaassen Farms! Are you looking for a fun outdoor activity for your family in the Fraser Valley? I was very impressed by all the steps they’ve taken to keep things safe this summer.
Even though we now live in suburban South Surrey, I was raised next to a dairy farm in a rural community outside of Port Alberni called Cherry Creek. We feel it’s important to show our son where our food comes from, and go out of our way to visit many different local farms. We especially love visiting Klaassen Farms U-Pick Farm, as I’ve previously written about here.
Found at 51211 Chilliwack Central Road, Klaassen Farms is only a few short minutes off of the highway. It’s a family owned and operated blueberry farm offering fresh and delicious locally grown BC Blueberries. Their farm is the perfect spot for a family outing; they have refreshments, picnic tables, shade and plenty of blueberries to be picked for only $1.75 per pound.
Due to COVID-19, Klaassen Farms has gone above and beyond to make sure its customers stay and healthy.
I’m reminded of what Dr. Bonnie Henry recommends: “Few faces and open spaces”.
Klaassen Farms would like to thank you for your patience & for following the rules!
You can find out more on their website.
Besides being the best way to save money on your fresh blueberries, spending a few hours picking them together is a relaxing and memorable activity. I find that it’s a practice in mindfulness and being present in the current moment. It’s funny how life has a way of slowing down when you’re scanning a bush for the biggest berries and adding them to your bucket.
Note: The Dukes’ season completes towards the end of July, and the Elliots are ready mid-August. Be sure to check Klaassen Farms’ website before heading out!
If you don’t have time to U-Pick, you can access their multiple roadside locations for pre-picked berries HERE
Made locally in The Fraser Valley using their sweet Duke Blueberries and local ingredients.
While there are several flavour options, we couldn’t resist trying out the signature Blueberry Blast and Blueberry Cheesecake choices! The latter is a delightful mix of a creamy smooth base with crispy cheesecake crumbles dancing around– and of course the crunch of the waffle cone holding it all together. I welcomed its natural, light sweetness– not too much!
All of their ice cream is made in approved health facilities by Birchwood Dairy & Decades Coffee.

How refreshing this was at the end of a hot day! Made by Decades Coffee, using Klaassen Berries, this eye catching garnet-coloured lemonade is simultaneously both sour and sweet.
We couldn’t resist picking up a blueberry pie for our Sunday night family dinner!
Made by Decades Coffee Shop with Klaasen’s Duke blueberries, these pies are available fresh or frozen.
These pies offer juicy bursting berries sandwiched in between a crumbly sugared topping and a crust that flakes apart when faced with an eager fork. This one earned rave reviews from my in-laws and tasted better than homemade!
The main variety that Klaassen Farms freezes and has available for sale to the public are their sweet Duke blueberries. These blueberries are one of their most popular varieties due to their taste and plump size.
Frozen blueberries are available for purchase directly from the Farm Store on select dates. If you’re looking to purchase locally in your area, there are several locations throughout the Fraser Valley and the Okanagan that stock frozen blueberries year round.
